Aarogya: Empowering underserved communities for healthier lives

Quality healthcare is a fundamental right – one that empowers the underserved communities to lead healthier lives. As part of the Aarogya Project, which is committed to healthcare awareness and early detection of illnesses, Allcargo Logistics along with SAAD Foundation (Social Awareness Advocacy and Development), a Mumbai based non-governmental organisation, conducted five health check-up camps at slum localities across Mumbai, in September and October, 2023.

Aarogya: - Empowering underserved communities for healthier lives

The main objective of the health camps was to screen the patients for early detection of diseases and to create health related awareness, such as preventive healthcare, methods of a healthy lifestyle, and the value of nutrition. Free medicines were also distributed at these camps. In some cases, patients were referred for further treatment. A total of 1654 people were screened at the five camps and 1340 patients were given free medicines.

The camps were conducted at slums in the high density areas of Kurla, Ghatkopar, Sakinaka near Andheri, and Chembur.
