Avashya Foundation organizes health camps in Mangalore

Health is the state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely an absence of decease or infirmity- WHO. Health camp leaves a significant impact in terms of providing better health care to the marginalized sections.

On 11th January 2022  a free medical health camp for the community people of Athikaribettu Panchayath was organized at Panchayath hall, Athikaribettu, near Mangalore. The camp was organized in association with Prajna Counselling Centre, KMC Hospital, Attavar, Athikaribettu Gram Panchayath, Athikaribettu Milk cooperative society, Bramhari Mahila Mandal and Kunjaragiri Mahila Mandal.

A total of  179 community members (42 men, 126 women and 11 children) attended and took the benefits of the health camp. Doctors were drawn from General medicine, ENT, OBG, Ophthalmology, Ortho and Pediatric to run the health camp. Common problems treated in the health camp included abdominal pain, allergies, fever, cold and cough, headache, problems related to eyes, ears, throat, back pain etc. A total of 38 cases were referred for further free/concessional treatment and 91others received spectacles at concessional rate.

Another free Medical health camp for the community people of Kemral Panchayath was organized on 15th February 2022  at Panchayath hall, Kemral. A total of  194 community members attended and took the benefits of health camp.

Our community health programs address public health initiatives focus on identifying specific geographic areas with high levels of need and helping those communities overcome barriers to living healthier lives.
